Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 5, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ClinicalEthicsPrep, LLC ("ClinicalEthicsPrep," "we," "us"). By using clinicalethicsprep.com or access.clinicalethicsprep.com (together, the "Service"), you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Educational purpose only

The Service provides study materials for clinical ethics education and certification preparation. It is not medical, legal, or professional advice, and it must not be used to make decisions about the care of actual patients. We make no guarantee that use of the Service will result in passing any examination or obtaining any certification.

2. No affiliation

HEC-C® is a registered trademark of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH®). ClinicalEthicsPrep is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by ASBH, the HEC-C certification program, or any certifying body. Our materials are original educational content and do not reproduce any actual examination content.

3. Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.
  • Accounts are for one person. Sharing an account, credentials, or purchased content with others is prohibited and grounds for termination without refund.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

4. License and access periods

Your purchase grants a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased content for your own study during your access period. Access periods run for the fixed duration stated at purchase (for example, 30, 90, or 180 days), beginning on the purchase date. Your saved progress remains attached to your account and is restored if you renew.

5. Intellectual property

All content in the Service — questions, explanations, cases, documents, graphics, and software — is owned by ClinicalEthicsPrep and protected by copyright. You may not copy, screenshot for distribution, scrape, publish, resell, share, or create derivative works from the content, in whole or in part. We may embed identifying markers in content to detect unauthorized distribution. Violations result in immediate termination without refund and may result in legal action.

6. Purchases, renewals, and refunds

  • Prices are shown at checkout and processed securely by Stripe. Purchases are one-time payments for fixed access periods — there is no auto-renewing subscription.
  • Because the product is digital content that is delivered in full immediately upon purchase, all sales are final once you have accessed member content.
  • If you believe you were billed in error, or you purchased but have not meaningfully used the Service, contact support@clinicalethicsprep.com within 7 days of purchase and we will work with you in good faith.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: share accounts or content; attempt to bypass access controls; probe, disrupt, or overload the Service; use automated tools to access or extract content; misrepresent your identity; or use the Service in violation of any law.

8. Availability and changes

We continuously improve the Service and may add, revise, or retire questions and features. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"; brief maintenance windows and occasional interruptions may occur.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClinicalEthicsPrep disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including examination outcomes.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with no refund for the unused portion of an access period ended for violation.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
